About Eventship
The event platform for lean teams
Hey, I'm Hussein 👋
I've been building in the San Diego startup ecosystem since 2005. After serving as CTO for multiple high-growth companies and seeing my own startup, Money Minx, acquired by Arta Finance, I found myself in a position many of us know: digitally connected but physically isolated.
I missed the "jam sessions" on cool products and the raw energy of the startup world. I wanted to meet people in person, but with a busy schedule, a two-hour round-trip drive to a mixer just wasn't sustainable.
In late 2023, I decided to host a mixer five minutes from my house. I called it the North County SD Startup Mixer. What started with 10 people in a bar quickly exploded to 150+ attendees with waitlists for every event.
Solving the "Room Full of Strangers" Problem
As the host, everyone knew who I was. But I realized that for most attendees, walking into a room of 150 people is intimidating. You don't know who to talk to, and you often leave without the one connection you actually needed. I wanted everyone to have the "Host Experience."
I built an AI matchmaking algorithm to review attendee profiles and suggest high-value introductions. By pairing people based on specific interests and goals, the platform creates an "instant icebreaker." No more awkward wandering. Everyone has a reason to be there and someone to talk to.
From a Single Mixer to Global Communities
What started as a tool for my own events quickly took on a life of its own. Hosts started asking to use the technology for their own communities. That was the birth of Eventship.
Today Eventship runs the whole event, not just the ticket. Registration and payments, the published agenda, sponsor and exhibitor inventory, badge printing and check-in on the day, and the attendee record that outlives all of it. The hosts who use it are almost never a full events department. They are two people, or five, running something that looks like it took twenty.
Automated Sponsoring
Our AI doesn't just process sponsorship payments. It acts as a matchmaker between events and sponsors based on ideal customer profiles (ICP) and goals. Then it auto fulfills sponsorships benefits like placing logos on the event page and in emails.
Why we build it this way
Most event software assumes you have a team to run it. There is an implementation call, a configuration phase, a customer success manager, and a price that reflects all three. We build for the opposite assumption: that the person configuring the platform is the same person who will be at the registration desk on the day. Everything here is meant to be set up without our help, and to hold up when the room is full.
Run the whole event. Without a whole team.
See you at the next one,
Hussein
What we believe
Three convictions that decide what we build and what we refuse to
One system, not a stack
Tickets, agenda, booths, badges and check-in belong in one place. Every tool you bolt on is another thing to reconcile at midnight.
The data is yours
Who registered, who showed up, who came back. It syncs to your CRM and email tools rather than sitting in an export you have to ask us for.
No sales call required
You can sign up and run a real event today without talking to us. Pricing is published, and the setup is yours to do.
